Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that effects the body’s ability to produce insulin. It also effects the lives of those who live with it in many ways– physically, mentally, and emotionally. Women with T1D need a contemporary platform to share their experiences, connect with other women who have similar experiences, and have unfiltered conversations surrounding the intersections of diabetes and womanhood. Applejuice is an online and print platform that aims to amplify and celebrate the stories of women with T1D and foster a supportive, compassionate, and empowering community.
